A brief introduction about seamless steel pipe’s technique


Seamless steel pipe is a round hollow section steel pipe, which are widely used for transmission such as petroleum, natural gas, water and other fluid transmission. Also are widely used in construction and as high-pressure steel pipes.

Most common seen technique for seamless steel pipe are hot roll and cold draw. Cold drawn seamless steel pipe’s manufacturing process are much more complicated than hot-rolled seamless steel pipe. Visually speaking, cold drawn seamless steel pipe will be shorter than hot rolled seamless steel pipe. Cold drawn pipe will be thinner, and appearance will be better than hot rolled. Starting form billet, finish as formed seamless steel pipe, after  all kinds of inspection, such as chemical composition analysis, metallographic analysis, tensile test, low temperature impact test, etc.

Cooling method for seamless steel pipe

Cooling method plays an important role during the production process of   seamless steel pipe . As some defects may happen during the cooling process if we don’t take the rightful plans for it. So we should have a clear understanding for the cooling methods before the production of steel pipe. There are three main categories for cooling method: 1.
